INNOPROM 2026: An Important Event to Showcase National Industrial Potential and Innovation
MAY 14, 2026
The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) continues to strengthen national preparations for Indonesia's participation as a Partner Country at the International Industrial Exhibition (INNOPROM) 2026, the largest industrial exhibition in Russia. To ensure readiness, the Ministry of Industry recently held a Business Dialogue: Road to INNOPROM 2026 in Surabaya.
Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita emphasized that Indonesia's participation in INNOPROM 2026 represents a strategic opportunity to showcase the strength of the national manufacturing sector.
"Indonesia's participation as a Partner Country is an important momentum to display the capability, innovation, and competitiveness of the national industry before the global community. We want to ensure that Indonesia's presence is not just as a participant, but as a strategic partner with a clear vision towards innovation, sustainability, and inclusive industrial growth," said the Minister in his statement in Jakarta on Thursday (20/11).
Secretary of the Directorate General of Industrial Resilience, Regions and International Access (KPAII), Syahroni Ahmad, explained that INNOPROM is a crucial entry point for Indonesia to expand markets and strengthen industrial partnerships with Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries.
"As the Partner Country 2026, Indonesia will utilize this platform to boost industrial cooperation and investment, strengthen business-to-business and government-to-government relations, and promote Indonesia's technological capability and creativity," he said.
He added that this step aligns with the Ministry's strategy to accelerate transformation towards an advanced industrial nation through downstreaming and value addition. Up to the third quarter of 2025, Indonesia's non-oil and gas manufacturing exports reached USD 167.85 billion, contributing 81% of total national exports. Additionally, the non-oil and gas manufacturing sector accounted for 17.39% of the national GDP during the same period.
Based on the Manufacturing Value Added (MVA) indicator, Indonesia ranked 13th in the world and highest in Southeast Asia in 2024, with an MVA value of USD 265 billion, which is twice that of Thailand.
Strengthening Partnerships
Syahroni stated that economic relations between Indonesia and Russia hold increasingly significant potential. Bilateral trade in 2024 reached USD 3.98 billion, while total Russian investment in Indonesia reached USD 262.8 million.
"There are great opportunities for expanding cooperation in the food and agriculture sectors, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, shipbuilding, chrysotile, fertilizers, and the metallurgical industry," he said.
Indonesia is also committed to pushing for the completion of the Indonesia–Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (IEAEU-FTA) to open broader avenues of cooperation. "We hope that by 2026, Indonesia will stand out as a nation with a strong vision, targeted strategy, and a competitive, future-oriented industrial sector," Syahroni added.
The Ministry of Industry encourages all industrial players to optimally utilize the Business Dialogue forum to strengthen networks, explore partnership opportunities, and demonstrate the capacity and excellence of industries from various regions.
