Indonesia has officially been designated as the Official Partner Country of INNOPROM 2026, the largest international industrial exhibition in the Eurasian region, to be held on July 6–9, 2026, in Yekaterinburg, Russia. Supported by 50 national industry delegations, Indonesia’s participation marks a concrete step toward strengthening industrial partnerships with Russia and countries across Eurasia, while opening opportunities for investment, manufacturing cooperation, and the expansion of export markets for Indonesian industrial products.

"Indonesia and Russia have a strong foundation for industrial cooperation. Our task now is to ensure that this foundation develops into a concrete and sustainable partnership. INNOPROM 2026 presents an important opportunity to bring together industrial players from both countries, encourage investment, and create cooperation that delivers tangible benefits for all parties involved," said Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita in a press statement in Jakarta on (12/6).

As the Official Partner Country, Indonesia will present a national pavilion spanning more than 1,500 square meters, making it one of the largest pavilions at INNOPROM 2026. Under the theme “Navigating Industrial Futures,” the Indonesia Pavilion will feature five priority sectors: agro and food processing industries, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, specialized manufacturing and consumer goods, advanced manufacturing and engineering, and industrial estates and investment. The pavilion will also serve as a hub for business matching sessions, bilateral business forums, and high-level meetings between ministerial delegations from both countries.

Indonesia’s participation in INNOPROM 2026 is supported by increasingly strong economic relations with Russia. In 2025, bilateral trade between the two countries reached USD 1.876 billion, while Russian investment realization in Indonesia amounted to USD 262.8 million.

The participation is also reinforced by the growing bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Russia in recent years. Following the meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and President Vladimir Putin on December 10, 2025, which resulted in several strategic understandings in economic and industrial cooperation, both leaders met again at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow in April 2026 to strengthen cooperation in energy, investment, technology, downstream industries, and industrial development. This momentum reflects both countries’ commitment to advancing a relationship based not only on trade, but also on deeper and higher-value industrial collaboration.

This momentum was further strengthened by the signing of the Indonesia–Eurasian Economic Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (I-EAEU CEPA) on December 21, 2025, in St. Petersburg. The agreement provides broader access for Indonesian products to EAEU member markets, with 90.5% of tariff lines receiving preferential treatment, and establishes a new foundation for enhanced industrial, trade, and investment cooperation between Indonesia and the Eurasian region.

The positive impact of these strengthened relations has already begun to materialize. During the St. Petersburg Business Forum in April 2026, PT PAL Indonesia and Rosatom signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) on cooperation in floating nuclear power plants, while PupukIndonesia and Uralchem initiated discussions on collaboration in fertilizers and agricultural chemicals.

Indonesia enters INNOPROM 2026 as the largest manufacturing economy in Southeast Asia. The country’s Manufacturing Value Added (MVA) has reached USD 265 billion, ranking Indonesia 13th globally. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas manufacturing exports amounted to USD 147.9 billion, accounting for nearly 80% of total national exports. Indonesia’s total trade with the EAEU region reached USD 4.4 billion during January–October 2025 and is projected to continue growing with the implementation of the I-EAEU CEPA.

INNOPROM is recognized as one of the world’s most influential industrial exhibitions and forums. The previous edition attracted more than 48,000 visitors from over 60 countries and featured more than 700 companies and international delegations. Indonesia’s status as the Official Partner Country provides an exceptional opportunity to showcase the country’s industrial capabilities to the global business community while expanding strategic partnerships across Eurasia.

Tri Supondy, Director General of Industrial Resilience, Regional Development, and International Industrial Access at the Ministry of Industry, stated "We are not coming to Yekaterinburg simply to introduce ourselves. Indonesia’s industrial ecosystem is already mature, and the bilateral momentum built since late 2025 provides us with a strong foundation. What we seek from INNOPROM 2026 is the creation of concrete industrial partnership agreements that will serve as the starting point for long-term cooperation between Indonesia and Eurasian partners."

Indonesia’s participation in INNOPROM 2026 is expected to create new industrial investment opportunities, encourage co-production and joint manufacturing initiatives, expand market access for Indonesian manufactured products in Eurasia, and further strengthen Indonesia’s position as a strategic industrial partner for Russia and EAEU member countries. Indonesia follows the footsteps of the United Arab Emirates (2024) and Saudi Arabia (2025), both of which previously served as Official Partner Countries, further underscoring Indonesia’s growing role in the global industrial ecosystem.
