The Government of the Republic of Indonesia continues to push the expansion of the domestic industry market network to the global arena. This strategic step is clearly visible through Indonesia's active participation as a partner country (Partner Country) in the international industrial exhibition INNOPROM 2026 which takes place in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

"Indonesia brings a firm industrial agenda, which is accelerating downstreaming starting from critical minerals and advanced manufacturing, to energy, food security, and industrial zones," said the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, in his remarks at the Business Forum: Russia-Indonesia Industrial Dialogue event in Yekaterinburg, Russia, Tuesday (7/7/2026). He also added that Indonesia is very optimistic about deepening technological partnerships with Russia, as well as integrating high value-added manufacturing into the Eurasia market.

The manufacturing sector or Processing Industry (IP) is proven to still be the main anchor or backbone of the national economy. Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the IP sector in Quarter I of Year 2026 recorded a positive growth of 5.04 percent. This growth figure is higher if we compare it with the same period in the previous year which touched the figure of 4.55 percent. Besides that, the IP sector gives the largest contribution to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which is reaching 19.07 percent or equivalent to Rp1,179.62 trillion.

This stunning performance is also visible from the realization of investment in Quarter I of Year 2026, where the IP sector contributes up to 36.49 percent or valued at Rp182.04 trillion. Not only from the capital side, this sector also absorbs labor in a very massive amount, namely as many as 20.04 million people per February 2026. Meanwhile in the international trade sector, the contribution of IP exports in the January-February 2026 period dominates up to 83.61 percent with a sales value reaching Rp622.68 trillion.

The economic relationship between Indonesia and Russia itself shows a very significant development in the last few years. The total value of bilateral trade of the two countries grew by 5.4 percent to reach USD 4.8 billion in the year 2025. The export value of Indonesian products to Russia also jumped sharply by 7.5 percent with a total value of around USD 1.8 billion in the year 2025. Indonesia routinely exports superior commodities such as rubber, coffee, chocolate, tea, footwear, electronic components, as well as chemical products.
