Ministry of Industry Encourages Industrial Players to Strengthen Their Readiness for INNOPROM 2026

Indonesia is solidifying its preparations as the Partner Country for INNOPROM 2026, the largest international industrial exhibition in Russia. To support this effort, the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) held the Business Dialogue Road to INNOPROM 2026 in Surabaya on 17 November 2025 to strengthen national synergy and ensure the readiness of industrial stakeholders.

“For Indonesia, INNOPROM serves as a strategic gateway to the Russian and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) markets, as well as a platform for building industrial partnerships,” stated Syahroni Ahmad, Secretary of the Directorate General of Industrial Resilience, Regionalization, and International Industrial Access (KPAII) at the Ministry of Industry, during his opening remarks. As the Partner Country in 2026, Indonesia will utilize this platform to promote industrial and investment cooperation, strengthen business-to-business and government-to-government relations, showcase Indonesia’s technological and creative capabilities, and position Indonesia as a global center for manufacturing and innovation.

The Ministry also reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating the nation’s transformation toward becoming an advanced industrial country through industrial downstreaming policies and value-added enhancement. The industrial sector remains one of the main drivers of sustainable and inclusive economic growth. By the third quarter of 2025, Indonesia’s non-oil and gas manufacturing exports reached USD 167.85 billion, contributing around 81% of total national exports. The non-oil and gas manufacturing sector contributed approximately 17.39% to Indonesia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the same period.

Based on global Manufacturing Value Added (MVA) in 2024, Indonesia ranked 13th worldwide and first in Southeast Asia with an MVA of USD 265 billion—making it one of the region’s largest manufacturing powerhouses. This value is even twice that of Thailand, which ranks second. Industrial downstreaming remains key to transforming Indonesia from a mere exporter of raw materials into a producer of high-value industrial goods. This effort aims to strengthen industrial structure, enhance competitiveness, expand the export base, and create high-quality employment opportunities.

Strengthening Indonesia–Russia Cooperation Through INNOPROM 2026
The long-established strategic partnership between Indonesia and Russia continues to grow, further reinforced by the bilateral meeting between President Prabowo and President Putin on 19 June 2025. Bilateral trade between the two countries reached approximately USD 3.98 billion in 2024, with total Russian investment amounting to around USD 262.8 million.

There is strong potential for expanded cooperation across various sectors, including food and agriculture, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, shipbuilding, chrysotile, fertilizers, and the metallurgical industry. Russia remains a strategic partner for Indonesia in the Eurasian region, and Indonesia is committed to supporting the completion of the Indonesia–Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (IEAEU-FTA) to strengthen economic ties and open broader collaboration opportunities for both nations.

“We hope that as Indonesia takes on the role of Partner Country in 2026, our presence will not merely be as a participant, but as a nation showcasing a clear vision, well-defined strategy, and strong future-oriented industrial capabilities,” Syahroni concluded.

The Ministry of Industry encourages all industrial players to fully utilize this forum as a strategic momentum to expand networks, explore partnership opportunities, and present the capabilities and competitive strengths of each region.
